Something is brewing between Jeff and Dixie, the unlikely husband-and-wife ambulance crew. It’s easy to forget they’re married, because (a) they get on so well and (b) the marriage was really just a sham to make Dixie’s dying father happy.
There are hints that their always unorthodox relationship might be heading in a radical new direction, though first they have to deal with the aftermath of a collapsed roof. It’s at a secondary school, where surly teens have apparently wandered in from Waterloo Road. In between saying “fit” and “bangin’ ” a lot, they set up an excuse for Tom to lose his cool again. Mark Lewis Jones is quietly superb as the school’s deputy head.
