Series 1 - 5. Playhouse Presents: City Hall

Radio Times
Review by:
David Crawford

This impassioned political drama tries hard to capture the zeitgeist. Olivia Williams stars as Dorothy Green, a working-class mother filmed last year remonstrating with rioters. Now, improbably, she has been elected Mayor of London and struggles to reconcile her forthright manner with the chicanery of politics. Williams brilliantly conveys the nerves beneath Dorothy’s bluster, but this format’s too short for all the issues.
