Patrick Moore has railed on the pages of Radio Times against the changes that have been made over the years to this oldest of television warhorses. But he still sits at the heart of it, and he still presents with the most brilliantly old-school delivery on television. One meteor in his orbit this episode is Sky at Night regular (and impressionist) Jon Culshaw, who visits a Hampshire astronomical group as part of the Moore Marathon – a challenge to mark the series’ 55th anniversary by finding and logging the great astronomer’s 55 favourite heavenly objects.
About this programme
The second celebration of the programme's 55th anniversary. Patrick Moore selects 55 objects in the night sky and asks viewers to take part in his Moore Marathon, before finding out how people have fared, helped by Chris Lintott, Peter Lawrence and Paul Abel.
