Cherry Durbin was adopted as a baby when her mother had to flee the Nazi invasion of Jersey. As an adult, Cherry managed to trace her birth mother, who revealed something she had never known: Cherry had a sister named Sheila. But tracking down Sheila proved hard, until Cherry invoked the power of TV via the keen researchers of Long Lost Family. It’s the kind of longed-for reunion that this series is brilliant at engineering.
The other against-the-odds search is for Naomi Wilson’s father. She last saw him aged five when he took her shopping. She remembers him telling her how much he loved her and the two of them walking hand in hand down the street. But since that day, nothing.
About this programme
