What is it about Walford that draws people back to it over and over again? It can’t be the sunny disposition of its residents or its fantastic job opportunities. Yet some people just can’t keep away. In the summer (look away now if you don’t want to know) Sharon and Kat return, but for now it’s the turn of Mandy’s mum Lorraine. A woman of such inherent evil she makes Mandy look like an angel, Lorraine claims she’s back because she’s unwell. I think we knew that.
Meanwhile, Jay’s delight that he can move in with Shirley is short-lived when he realises whose old flat she’s renting. And Michael gets deeper into debt over Janine’s wedding plans – on the plus side, Jack agrees to be his best man.
About this programme
Mandy is shocked when Lorraine turns up in the Square, claiming to be seriously ill - but Ian refuses to give her any sympathy. Jay asks to move in with Shirley, but is horrified to discover the location of her new home. Derek sets about trying to solve Carol's problems, Jack is perturbed by the number of lies in Michael and Janine's relationship, while Roxy moves out of the Mitchells' house - and into the Vic.
