Vice-President Selena Meyer (the brilliant Julia Louis-Dreyfus) suffers churning humiliation during a trip to a frozen yogurt store in a misguided attempt to meet “the normals”. (Seinfeld fans will hug themselves with recognition when they remember another frozen yogurt store debacle involving Elaine and a race for political office.)
Poor Selena; the President still hasn’t called, though for a brief and shining moment, after he suffers chest pains during a trip to Africa, she is the most important woman in the world. This is after her Clean Jobs initiative – her pride and joy – collapses at the first hurdle when she fails to assert herself with a charming senator. Her hopeless aides try to rescue her with a hail of double-speak.
