The absolute doyenne of the New York movement, Patti Smith, showcases her eclectic tastes as she gets to be the DJ for an hour. That the Pixies are on her playlist might not be much of a surprise, but the inclusion of the Human League left me reeling, but rather pleased that the fearsome punk poetess can enjoy pure pop froth as much as the rest of us.
About this programme
The musician picks some of her favourite tracks, including songs by Pixies, Eddie Cochran, Pretenders, Human League, the Byrds and Madonna.
