About this programme

Matt Parker explores the work of Alan Turing, renowned for breaking German codes during the Second World War, but who was better known among mathematicians for his contribution to the invention of the computer. He also explores the circumstances surrounding Turing's suicide in 1954, after he was convicted for gross indecency on account of his homosexuality.
