It’s been carnage on the rink. But despite bloody injuries and harsh marking (what was Louie Spence thinking when he gave Jorgie Porter a mere 6.5 for her lovely “ribbon” routine?), this series has been a less dramatic, more polite affair without judge Jason Gardiner.
Now just three of the 15 celebrity contestants remain – and you won’t be surprised by who they are unless you really thought that Laila Morse or Mark Rhodes were in with a chance. Two of them get to perform Torvill and Dean’s classic Bolero routine before Phillip Schofield reveals the winner – an announcement that he’ll drag out for at least five minutes.
About this programme
12/12. The celebrity skating contest reaches its climax as Matthew Wolfenden, Jorgie Porter and Chico battle it out in the hope of succeeding last year's winner Sam Attwater. Torvill and Dean open the show with a new dance to Ravel's Bolero, accompanied by opera singers Laura Wright and Noah Stewart. After that, the three remaining stars take to the ice to repeat their favourite routines from the series, plus their final showcase, which incorporates their own ideas from styling to lighting. Phone lines then open, giving viewers the chance to vote for their favourite contestant, and one of them is eliminated. The final two skaters then face the ultimate challenge - performing their own versions of Bolero. All the contestants from this year's series also return to the show for one last performance. Hosted by Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley. Last in the series.
