Pretty soon the Rovers Return will be superseded as the central meeting point for Coronation Street residents. If things carry on in the way they have been, the custody cell at the local nick will become the main social hub. So much for producer Phil Collinson admitting last year that his soap had “been at the police station and the courtroom a little bit too much”.
Now, with Peter on remand after being charged with murder, you’d have thought that all the questions had been answered in the investigation into Frank’s death. Yet there are more twists to come in the Weatherfield whodunnit: this evening, Leanne finds that Peter has an alibi for the night in question, while Sally makes a startling discovery when sorting Frank’s belongings.
My opinion is that DS Nash and DC Grant should be turning their attention to the mother of the deceased. Anne Foster certainly looks crazed enough to be a killer, so could Frank’s murder be a case of filicide?
About this programme
Peter is remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with murder, but during a prison visit, Carla is shocked by what he says. Meanwhile, Leanne bumps into AA chairman Howard and realises her husband has an alibi, leaving her furious that he would lie to save his lover at the expense of his son. A tussle breaks out between Kylie and Brian at the school gates, and Lewis asks for his old job back at the Bistro.
