This episode's about-to-be-parents would probably all agree that birth is not a glamorous experience. “Leave your dignity at the door,” says one of the midwives. “You can pick it up again when you leave.” Sheree, 20, is mortified that she can’t control certain bodily functions, although Vicki, who’s in the delivery room with her partner Janet after conceiving using donor sperm, is oblivious to such niceties.
Ines, 30, and her 60-year-old husband Paul admit they are a very unlikely couple, but their religious beliefs create a firm bond – and give us the quietest birth of the programme. It’s not glamorous, but it is – almost – dignified.
