About this programme

Five actors perform monologues in which they give their interpretations of characters from the works of Charles Dickens. Miriam Margolyes appears as Mrs Gamp from The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit, to which Steve Evets also pays homage in a portrayal of Mr Chuffey. Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol is brought to life by Simon Callow, Douglas Booth takes on the role of Ham from David Copperfield, and Thomas Brodie Sangster performs Pip's first encounter with Miss Havisham from Great Expectations.
