About this programme
France v Italy (Kick-off 2.30pm). Coverage of the opening match of this year's tournament, which takes place at the Stade de France in Paris. Both sides have new coaches in the shape of Phillipe Saint-Andre and Jacques Brunel respectively, and Les Bleus are looking to build on their surprise run to the final of last year's World Cup. They will need to improve on their performance in their meeting with the Azzurri in March during last season's Six Nations, when they lost 22-21 in Rome, thanks largely to Mirco Bergamasco kicking five penalties and a conversion for the Italians. John Inverdale introduces the programme live from Murrayfield, looking ahead to the tournament, with Gabby Logan presenting from Paris. With commentary by Eddie Butler and Lawrence Dallaglio, and analysis by Keith Wood.
