CSI: NY

Series 8 - 2. Keep It Real

This series has a delightfully Hollywood idea of New York bohemian types. You have to love it when the script calls for a struggling female musician, a punk-rock guitarist, and they cast a tanned, busty blonde with hair extensions. As we meet her, she’s playing a Ramones cover to the kind of heaving nightclub scene where a host of CSI episodes have begun.

We know a murder is imminent, and the victim turns out to be her straight-arrow, Keane-loving boyfriend. Danny is rapidly on the scene in his disconcerting NYPD sergeant’s uniform: how long before he gets back to the crime lab where he belongs? Mac already has: he’s unpacking his framed photo of Ronald Reagan.
