Teresa Lisbon’s brow habitually darkens when the subject of her family is raised. When her younger brother Tommy turns up at the home of a murder victim, it looks likely that she’ll frown herself into an early grave. Both Lisbons are chasing the same man, with the added complication of Annabeth, Tommy’s trigger-happy teenage daughter, coming along for the ride.
The settings and scenarios – country club, dead police chief, Rigsby and Van Pelt doing a bit of light flirting – are bread and butter for The Mentalist, but two things are missing. There’s not enough actual Mentalist and, following an unfortunate run-in with Tommy’s car, there’s not enough Cho.
