A Night with Beyoncé

Radio Times

Alison Graham

There can be few more enthralling performers than Beyoncé. Just remember how she stole the show at Glastonbury, and not just because she was wearing a sparkly jacket and big pants that showed off her astonishing legs.

She’s a proper superstar who has racked up 16 Grammy Awards and more time at number one and on the US Billboard Hot 100 than any other female artist. Crazy in Love (which it’s impossible not to dance to) routinely pops up in “greatest song” polls.

So ITV1 has achieved a coup in persuading Beyoncé (pregnant, but it’s not slowing her down) to sing before an audience of what are described as her “biggest fans”. She will talk to them, too, in a “special interview session”.

About this programme

Steve Jones presents a one-off special in which the American superstar performs some of her biggest hits, including If I Were a Boy, Crazy in Love and Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), as well as the tracks 1+1, Countdown, End of Time and Best Thing I Never Had from her latest album 4. The R'n'B singer, who rose to fame in the late 1990s as part of the girl group Destiny's Child, also answers fans' questions about her career and personal life.
