It’s case dismissed for Law & Order as the old warhorse comes to an end after 20 seasons.

Watching this episode, you get the impression that it was never meant to be a series finale. It’s a proficient if unremarkable story about a mystery blogger who’s threatening to blow up a school, although the subplot about Anita Van Buren’s continuing health problems is welcome. Actress S Epatha Merkerson has put in 17 years’ worth of service, so it feels apt that she gets a large share of screen time in this last hour.

23/23. Last-ever episode of the long-running crime drama. When Van Buren discovers a website featuring footage of an alarming amount of explosives, Lupo and Bernard race to find the anonymous blogger who filmed it before his plans to bomb a school are put into action. However, the Department of Education's refusal to take the threat seriously and resistance from the teachers' union complicate the investigation. Last in the series.
