Royal Pains

Series 2 - 1. Spasticity

The sun-factor-50 medical drama reappears for a second run of seductive escapism. Hank Lawson, concierge doctor to the rich, is having serious regrets about letting his slacker brother Evan manage the accounts. HankMed is heading for bankruptcy, but we soon discover the root cause is their errant father.
Royal Pains continues to do for the Hamptons what McGarrett and Danno do for Hawaii. It’s glossy and fun, but this lazy episode is unlikely to win the show new fans. Such drama as there is derives from the spate of ridiculous injuries sustained by the son of a rich recluse. There is an ace card up the sleeve, however: a delightful casting coup for the role of Lawson Sr.
