A bizarre, oddly plotted instalment that never quite adds up. But it does have some good moments, notably a scene where Patrick Jane adopts the persona of a Texan gun-nut to get friendly with a suspect in a redneck bar. It's part of a Hustle-style con that the CBI gang persuade their new boss (yes, another new boss: how long will this one last?) to let them run.
Meanwhile, another suspect is a homeless man whom Lisbon recognises as a once-famous saxophone player. Is one of these men responsible for the murder of a photographer at a protest march? Try not to drum your fingers on your armchair as we find out.
About this programme
4/24. Jane and the team are assigned to protect the Mayor during a rally about immigration rights. While searching the area, they find the body of a photographer who has been robbed and murdered. The investigation initially seems to point to a homeless man, but when the memory card in the victim's camera is found to have a close-up picture of the killer on it, the team races to prevent an imminent murder.
