Rosie is one of those characters about whom you can’t help but have a strong opinion. Some see her as a crusader trying to get justice for her son, while others find her self-righteousness hard to stomach. But, as is revealed during the court hearing, there is an underlying reason for her fierce over-protectiveness of Hugo. Is she making up for past recklessness? Have her values morphed into an obsession? By the end of tonight’s hour, there are plenty of issues to pick apart as The Slap once again stops short of delivering a tidy answer and leaves it up to us to draw our own conclusions.
