Fans of Come Dine with Me should flock to this new psychological show, as it serves up a similar menu of smiling dinner party guests silently committing character assassination behind each other’s backs.
Instead of commenting on poorly made meals, the contestants here are asked to answer questions that reveal the inner workings of their personalities. The show draws you in as each increasingly awkward question sets them at loggerheads.
If you can get past Pip Torrens’s portentous turn as the Host – “Like Judas in the Garden of Gethsemane, the stage is set for betrayal” – is devilishly good fun.
