Do you remember That’s Life? Do you miss it much? After expiring in 1994 the series was tirelessly revisited in clip-nostalgia shows and TV types have often wondered if something similar wouldn’t work in today’s schedules. Now we find out, as Nick Knowles and Julia Bradbury present a live show about the quirky ups and downs of modern Britain.
It sounds as if the nub of the show will be the cry, “How hard can it be?” As it’s live, there’s no knowing in advance where the content will sit on the sharp-to-shoddy spectrum, but airport luggage systems, junk mail and petrol stations are in the firing line for the opening show.
About this programme
1/4. New series. Nick Knowles and Julia Bradbury are joined by guests to explore the best and worst of modern Britain. Grainne Seoige tackles junk mail, Shaun Williamson tries to bring back bus conductors, and comedian Adrian Edmondson follows the journey made by luggage as it travels through the airport system. Plus, Stanley Johnson highlights the spirit of the British public with a hidden-camera experiment, and the team tries to find the worst pothole in the country.
