Is the firmly-rooted Mma Ramotswe really seeing the ghost of her old white van? How will her trusted fellow lady detective, Mma Makutsi, break the news to her husband-to-be that a catastrophic incident has claimed her divine wedding shoes? Who will track down the runaway father of newborn twins and, worst of all, what maniac is behind the outbreak of cattle slashing?
The No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency will, of course, sort out each of these conundrums, but it is the unravelling of so many threads that brings such familiar joy.
