Soap-opera writer Anouk’s attention was elsewhere when the slap occurred, so this week’s episode doesn’t initially concern itself too much with the permissive parenting v boundary-setting debate. Instead, we focus on Anouk’s crowded life as careerist, carer and cougar. The conclusions she reaches are quite drastic and affect both her friendship with Rosie and her relationship with young heartthrob Rhys. It makes for a sombre, introspective instalment.
