Glee returns, after taking a break in the US for the World Series, to unveil the winner of talent show The Glee Project, who’ll appear for at least seven episodes. Our own Damian McGinty, from Derry, was adjudged the one who’d best fit with the cast, despite having a less imposing personality than the US hopefuls.
McGinty has two problems. One is that some runners-up also got roles: Lindsay Pearce’s blazing turn in the season opener may have upstaged McGinty before he’s begun. Second, on-set photos indicate that McGinty’s been done up like a leprechaun. Still, Glee normally knows what it’s doing. His debut sees his character, exchange student Rory, move in with Brittany. Things are looking up already.
About this programme
4/22. A foreign-exchange student from Ireland moves in with Brittany and they quickly become friends, but Santana sees him as a rival for the cheerleader's affections. Meanwhile, another candidate enters the congressional race against Sue, and New Directions suffers more defections. Damian McGinty, co-winner of The Glee Project, joins the cast.
