1/5. DCI Matt Burke's elderly father is found dead in his flat, and what seems like an open-and-shut case of liver failure takes a sinister turn when it is discovered he died of a heroin overdose. The deceased man's companions reveal another friend from their day centre also died suddenly, while the small matter of a £200,000 savings plan payable to Burke and his estranged brother raises suspicions among the team.
