Doc Martin

Series 5 - 6. Don't Let Go

Events often happen quickly for Martin and Louisa, as if lingering on the pair would reveal their love to be too unlikely. Not tonight! We’re in snappy screwball territory as the new parents are given time to bicker over who goes to work and who looks after baby James. It’s nicely judged: Louisa’s never as soppy as you think and Martin’s never as insensitive.

Another odd couple are in crisis, as meek Joe Penhale clings on to his estranged wife. Joe married above himself and needs to become a different man if he’s to keep her. It’s a sweet, sad story with a perfect end.

Meanwhile, the kids in Louisa’s school are all being sick. Martin rudely investigates.
