Family diplomacy occupies the PM in this domestically biased but no-less enthralling episode. A visiting Eastern Bloc president puts pressure on Birgitte to arrest a fellow countryman. If that isn’t stressful enough, Birgitte’s divorcee father Per chooses a terrible time to visit. As ever with Borgen, there’s a banquet of food for thought and a wealth of tasty character moments. With the first chinks appearing in the armour of Birgitte’s (believable and beautifully played) marriage, can Dad exert an influence?
