Series 3 - 10. Yes/No

Back after a break — Sky are sick of stopping and starting like the US transmissions do, so they’ve let the States get ahead — the kids and teachers from McKinley High have marriage on the brain.

Emma sort-of proposes to Will, which spurs Will to properly propose to Emma. Along the way are some false steps: the opening cover of Summer Nights from Grease is like a crayon copy of the Mona Lisa, and Will’s choice of best man is cloying and implausible. But the spectacular musical finale is the sort of grand, shameless emoting that Glee does so well. Oh, and there’s something even better snuck in afterwards, so get a second box of tissues in.

What’s more, a smart subplot gives new shape to Becky, the girl with Down’s who trails after Sue Sylvester. Via voiceover we hear her inner thoughts: she’s cool. She’s witty. She’s in control. She’s… Helen Mirren!
