It’s the day of Pat’s funeral, a classy, respectful, religious, low-key affair. Who are we kidding? Janine stumps up a lot of cash to give Walford matriarch Pat a proper East End send-off with a horse-drawn hearse, some gaudy floral tributes and Sweet Caroline playing as the coffin is carried out. She probably didn’t bargain on a drunken teenager being sick behind the gravestones or the Branning boys and David Wicks having a bit of an argy-bargy, though.
However, EastEnders always does weddings and funerals wonderfully, so there may be a tear in your eye as the magnificent Pat is laid to rest.
About this programme
Pat's relatives struggle to keep their emotions under control as the residents of Albert Square gather for her funeral. Kat and Jack pay an emotional visit to the grave where baby James is buried, and Ian tells Bianca about Mandy and Ricky's secret - leading her to question the future of her marriage. Meanwhile, Tanya and Max are forced to take action after Lauren's behaviour gets out of control.
