David Hockney grants Countryfile an exclusive, the first broadcast of a film that’s at the core of his forthcoming Royal Academy exhibition. These are exciting times for Hockney lovers as the show features new work – paintings, films and even iPad drawings inspired by the lovely East Yorkshire landscape near his Bridlington home. Ellie Harrison visits Bradford-born Hockney’s studio by the sea to meet him.
Meanwhile, John Craven talks to Prime Minister David Cameron about the issues facing the countryside, and the people who live and work in it.
