Take Me Out

Series 3 - Episode 1

Take Me Out
Radio Times
Review by:

A third series of dystopian dating. A man faces 30 women, who each have a light to denote they’re still interested. This they can impulsively switch off – triggering a mocking “beeeeoooo” sound – should his appearance, patter or short film about himself displease them. After a few rounds, he picks from whoever’s still in. Then the other 29 girls size up the next guy.

The moment last year when ten women pressed the button on hearing the words “I’m an architect” may have been one of the bleakest of the TV year, but Take Me Out doesn’t try to be anything other than brutal, brain-dead fun. Paddy “No likey, no lighty!” McGuinness is an apt choice of host.
