With inspiration drawn from master of horror HP Lovecraft, this superb series of supernatural chillers ends its current run with a thoroughly unsettling tale by Lizzie Nunnery. If this writer’s name sounds familiar, that’s because she’s also an acclaimed folk musician whose debut album nailed her interests firmly to the mast in its title: Company of Ghosts.
The spectral presence in this story is malevolent, aggressive and sinister. What cranks this up to a heightened level of terror is that the victim of the ghost’s evil intentions is his own daughter. A suitably dark end to this devilishly good series.
