The eighth and somewhat stodgy series comes to a close with the more entertaining-sounding prospect of the old boys monkeying around at a zoo. The case being reopened by Ucos is that of Zac Halsey, a keeper whose death in the tiger enclosure back in 2006 was deemed to be a tragic accident. But blood found in Zac’s lodgings during a recent refurbishment at Harefield Zoo suggests that he was killed before his body was found among the big cats.
Of equal concern for animal-activist Brian is the issue of keeping wild beasts in captivity, a principle that soon finds him in conflict with the zoo’s PR guru Tabitha Hall-Chalmers (Caroline Harker).
About this programme
10/10. The team investigates the killing of a zookeeper, thought to have been mauled to death by a tiger in 2006, when blood found in the victim's lodgings suggests he was murdered before his body was placed in the big-cat enclosure. However, not all the team members are happy about the new case as Brian's animal rights tendencies come to the fore, bringing him into conflict with the zoo's PR. Alun Armstrong and Amanda Redman star.
