About this programme
5/6. Janet Street-Porter champions the contribution of contemporary art to modern Britain. The journalist and presenter revisits her teenage life in 1950s Britain and argues that art has been at the forefront of social and cultural change ever since, using works by artists including Gilbert & George, Patrick Heron, Peter Blake and David Hockney to support her case, as well as interviews with Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and Grayson Perry.
