In a feature-length conclusion to the drama, Aliena is exiled to France with Jack's illegitimate son, only to find her lover and inform him of the collapse of Kingsbridge Cathedral - prompting him to try to return home and complete Tom's work. Philip is ousted as prior of Kingsbridge following the damage to the building, and rejects an offer from Archbishop Waleran to become his archdeacon. Meanwhile, William turns his frustration on his mother when a raid fails, and Richard returns from the Crusades - once again intent on petitioning the king for his earldom. Starring Hayley Atwell, Donald Sutherland and Ian McShane. Last in the series.
