Simon Hopkinson likes to rummage around markets and enjoys grazing at a “good old-fashioned veg stall”. Without even bothering to cook anything, he picks up a potato and gives us a quick recipe for potato salad.
Back in his well-appointed kitchen (and was anyone else heartbroken to learn that it’s a studio set?) he makes even fennel look appealing with a braised fennel and Parmesan dish. This leads into a dinky vignette showing us How Things Are Made – in this case, parmesan.
It’s the last episode, which is a shame as it’s been an unfussy show featuring dishes that look achievable – even the final dish, Hopkinson’s dreamy little chocolate pots.
