Doctor Who

Series 6 - 8. Let's Kill Hitler

Team Tardis are back after their summer break in Let’s Kill Hitler, a massively entertaining episode that’s fizzing with spectacle, funny lines and breath-taking twists – which we wouldn’t dream of spoiling for you, of course. So what can we actually reveal about tonight’s instalment?

Well, the story picks up roughly where it left off in June with Amy and Rory still reeling from the bombshell that their baby Melody will grow up to be River Song. But how does a crop circle outside their home village Leadworth lead on to Hitler’s HQ in Berlin, 1938?

There’s a freaky Terminator-style shape-shifter, a volatile new bezzie mate for Amy, and again the Doctor gets spruced up in top hat and tails. (If he can dance, Matt Smith’s surely the man for anyone planning a Fred Astaire biopic.) And fans of Rory, your heroic underdog bags the best lines and some knockout action. Plus we dip back to Amy and Rory’s childhood with a return for little Amelia played by Caitlin Blackwood (Karen Gillan’s real-life cousin)…

So where does der Führer figure in all this? Perhaps wisely, Adolf gets little screen time, but there are plenty of other Nazis, and frenzied Germans darting about in their undies. And what of River Song? Don’t worry. She hogs the screen and is playing with fire.
