Live Golf: The Women's British Open

Day One

Day One

About this programme

Hazel Irvine introduces coverage of the opening day from Carnoustie in Angus, as Yani Tseng begins the defence of the title she won last year at Royal Birkdale Golf Club. Though it may be a regular part of the rotation for the men's Open Championship, having first staged that competition in 1931, the leading lights of the ladies' game have never previously contested the fourth major on their calendar at this course. Tseng will be attempting to become the first woman to successfully defend her title since Sherri Steinhauer claimed back-to-back victories in 1999.
