About this programme

Amateur film-makers provide spur-of-the-moment footage of marine rescue services and lifeboat volunteers at work. In the first programme, a lighthouse keeper on the verge of retirement reminisces about his career, and archive material provides a closer look at a naval minesweeper in crisis and the work of the RNLI lifeboat during the Texaco Caribbean disaster of 1971.
