About this programme
5/8. The Tet Offensive of 1968, a turning point for US marines in the Vietnam War. Dan Snow squeezes into a claustrophobic tunnel system in which Viet Cong fighters lived, stored arms and planned a nationwide attack on South Vietnam, while Peter explains how US marines tried to flush out their opponents. The pair also join the British Army on an urban clearance operation to find out how painstaking and disorientating such manoeuvres can be.
