Brace yourselves for a disability joke of epic tastelessness as preening, half-witted Quahog Channel 5 news anchors Tom Tucker and new girl Joyce Kinney introduce the
station’s Child of the Month appeal. Even Frankie Boyle would baulk at it.
It doesn’t upset Lois Griffin, who decides she wants to be Joyce Kinney’s friend: “You’re a lady big-shot. Like Miss Piggy.” But the relationship is doomed when Lois confides a big secret about her past to her new pal. Soon the whole of Quahog knows of Lois’s secret shame and she is ostracised.
It’s yet another so-so episode in what has so far been a disappointing ninth series – although it’s made more bearable by Stewie (the focus of a brilliant Incredible Hulk pastiche) and the lovely Brian. Is it so wrong to adore a talking cartoon dog as much as I do?
About this programme
9/18. Lois befriends local news presenter Joyce Kinney, who asks for permission to film a feature depicting her as the model American housewife. However, the report ends up making her look like a fool, so she sets out to put things right.
