If you’re hoping to have a vicarious bask in the Florida sunshine, there’s not much of it in this episode from 2004 because the main story is about a shooting in a nightclub that leaves two men dead and one seriously wounded. The survivor is Ricky Murdoch (Ian Somerhalder), whose family is one of the wealthiest and influential in Miami.

The obvious suspect is Angelo Sedaris, the cool but sleazy owner of another nearby club and who should be playing him but The Wire’s Idris Elba. “Something’s not right,” says Horatio. Meanwhile, Calleigh’s dad announces he is now a public defender and needs her help with a murder case.
