The scene that greets the investigators in this repeat from 2005 is about as weird as it gets. Apart from a dead body with a gaping bullet wound in its head there’s a deerstalker hat, a violin, a meerschaum pipe and a Persian slipper with tobacco stuffed in the toe. It is, according to Gil Grissom, a meticulous reconstruction of the fictional home of Sherlock Holmes.
The body belongs to Sherlock obsessive Dennis Kingsley, while the three main suspects (including one played by The Shield’s Catherine Dent) are his fellow detective fans. But was Kingsley murdered or did he commit suicide?
