Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Series 12 - 3. Behave

A young woman is found on a bus, drowsy from a head wound after a severe beating. She tells her rescuer: “He raped me… again…” In a typically harrowing episode persistent detective Olivia Benson discovers that the young woman (affectingly played by Ghost Whisperer’s Jennifer Love Hewitt) has been stalked, terrorised and repeatedly attacked by the same man for 15 years.

None of this will send you to bed with a song in your heart – in fact it’s remorseless. But Law and Order SVU does what it does brilliantly, however nasty. And it’s always a delight to see the glowing Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) when she’s really on a mission because, as we SVU devotees know only too well, Olivia takes everything personally.
