About this programme

David Heathcote explores the 1930s London Transport headquarters, which was the highest skyscraper in the city when it was built. He also learns how the man who commissioned it, Frank Pick, offered his resignation after receiving many complaints about the building's design, and examines the co-ordinated art-deco look of Southgate's Underground station.
