10/22. Part one of two. Mulder takes on the case of a missing child, believing there is a connection to an earlier abduction, but Scully fears he is too emotionally involved owing to his sister's disappearance. Mulder learns that his mother has committed suicide, while a visit to a woman imprisoned for murder after her son vanished offers him a clue to his sister's fate.
