A trip to the Ligurian coast of Italy is no holiday for horticultural sleuths Rosemary and Laura, who’ve been asked to create a restaurant garden for the flamboyant Emma Standish (Suzanne Bertish). They’re looking for inspiration in the lovely Giardini Tremonti when – would you credit it? – they stumble upon a body battered to death in the shrubbery. As you do.
There are some engaging performances (Casualty’s Tristan Gemmill co-stars as the Italian police’s prime suspect) but the plot is a bit flabby, so the best thing to do is simply settle back and enjoy the scenery which, even by Rosemary & Thyme standards, is glorious.
