Gardening sleuths Laura Thyme (Pam Ferris) and Rosemary Boxer (Felicity Kendal) have been asked to replant a derelict water feature at a health spa owned by wealthy widow Frances Caldecott (Antonia Pemberton). However, before they even get their hands dirty, Frances is found slumped over her will. She’s been strangled. The “daffodil desperadoes” are intrigued yet strangely unconcerned by this occurrence. However, as the episode unfolds, they unearth a secret message, listen at doors, observe odd comings-and-goings and get a lot more involved in crime solving than in gardening. Though the restored water feature still looks lovely.
