To Italy for a three-way contest between the presenters and their favourite hot hatchbacks. Jeremy Clarkson champions a Citroën DS3 Racing, Richard Hammond a Fiat 500C Abarth and James May a Renaultsport Clio Cup. As they power their way to Monte Carlo via romantic Italian roads, they’ll be able to taunt one another over walkie-talkies before facing a left-field challenge of the cars’ performance.

Back at base, comedian Ross Noble drops by and on the test track Clarkson is torturing metaphors to critique the hi-tech British supercar with a name like a dishwasher: the McLaren MP4-12C.
